Other areas of focus include: resolving issues of anger and stress and overcoming depression, shyness and anxiety. In addition to assisting people with the problems of self-esteem, aging, and self-assertion, I work with individuals coping with illness, grief and loss.
With my background as a writer, I am especially interested in addressing the issues of creativity. I work with writers and other creative artists to help free their energies and achieve their goals.
My articles have appeared in The Village Voice, Parents Magazine, New York Magazine, and The Flatbush Home News and in professional journals such as Modern Psychoanalysis, and Modern Group. I have taught in the Psychology Department of the New School University in New York City (“Psyche and Soma: Exploring the Mind/Body Connection”) and have led workshops on creativity and self-assertion at The Learning Annex (“Stop Being Nice”).
Currently I teach at the Center for Human Development (CHD), training and supervising psychoanalytic students.
In addition, I lead ongoing groups for people who want to get more out of life and have provided training seminars for the New York City Board of Education.
Nationally certified, and licensed as a psychoanalyst in New York State, I offer therapy, counseling and coaching for those who want to change and improve their lives.
Each individual has unique qualities and talents. Through therapy, we can free ourselves from what holds us back and keeps us from achieving what we want in life.
My office is in Brooklyn, New York. Hours are 9 am to 9 pm Monday through Thursdays. I try to keep my fees reasonable so I can be afforded. Please call or email with any questions or concerns.
I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I can be reached by phone at: 718/469-5308 or by e-mail: askdrmarge@verizon.net.
